What is Aromatherapy? The use of pure essential oils to seek to influence, change or modify mind, body or spirit; physiology or mood.
* Handy Hints *
There are an increasing number of colds, coughs and sore throats around now the weather is cooler. Steam inhalations can be very beneficial. Into a bowl of nearly boiling water place 4-6 drops of essential oils. Close your eyes, lean over bowl with a towel covering you and the bowl. Inhale through nose and exhale through mouth for blocked nose/sinuses or inhale through mouth and out through nose for sore throats, coughs and congestion in the chest. Continue for up to 10 mins, taking breaks if necessary and being careful not to burn yourself. For young children, place 4 drops of oil in a bowl of hot water in the room while they sleep/play, but make sure it’s out of reach. Try 1 drop each of cedarwood, eucalyptus, lemon and peppermint. If you don’t have all these oils, eucalyptus alone will help.
